Zoonicorn’s Brand Origin Story

Zoonicorn’s Brand Origin Story

Have you ever wondered what inspired Zoonicorn?

It all began when Zoonicorn creator Mark Lubratt was a graduate student at MIT, where he met his mentor, Amar Bose, founder of Bose Corporation. Dr. Bose was a firm believer that anyone can learn anything given the right teacher and the willingness to grow. He believed that, through optimism, persistence, and resilience, anyone can be inspired to achieve their full potential.

Mark began to realize that even preschool children are not too young to absorb these valuable social emotional life lessons. Mark set out to bring to life some zebra-unicorn characters he had long envisioned; he imagined the Zoonicorns could teach these lessons to youngsters in a dreamland Zooniverse.

The Zoonicorn characters are energetic, curious, and constantly learning, mirroring the natural, playful spirit of children everywhere. The Zoonicorn characters are not superheroes. They make mistakes, just like all kids, and then they learn, grow, and move forward, navigating relatable experiences and discovering the world around them alongside their young viewers.

In recent years, MESH skills (Mental, Emotional, and Social Health) have emerged as a guiding social emotional foundation. But though the acronym might be fairly new, the concepts behind MESH have been around for a long time, and optimism, persistence, and resilience are the foundation upon which all other MESH skills are built. Led by Mark Lubratt’s lifelong belief in these foundational qualities, Zoonicorn has been at the forefront of this movement since its beginning.

As Zoonicorn has grown into a global animated series with a wide range of products and content, those MESH learning touchpoints remain central to all things Zoonicorn, inspiring children and families around the world.

Stay tuned,  because there is so much more to come from the world of Zoonicorn, and remember our motto: “The Power to Win is Always Within!”.
